backhoes are one of the most useful machines that have multiple purposes in the construction market today. Many people benefit from this machine—construction workers, contractors and even farmers. The job that backhoes accomplish can be done by hand but more people still prefer to use these machineries because they make an otherwise difficult job into an easy task.
Backhoes are also compact and they have backhoe attachments. It is amazing how one unit can have multiple backhoe parts that can carry out numerous tasks. Surprisingly, only a few people are quite familiar with this knowledge—they think that the only job that a backhoe can do is digging ditches or clearing debris. This is very far from the real fact that a backhoe loader can go beyond such ordinary tasks.
Backhoe Attachments
- backhoe buckets—there are many kinds of backhoe buckets that can be attached to a backhoe loader. The sizes range from 12 inches to as big as 60 inches (such as those that are used for digging trenches).
- Tilt-rotator—is a backhoe part that is specifically used to make 360º rotations. It also allows 40º forward and backward tilting motions. This would mean precision in controlling your backhoe loader.
- Auger—once an auger is attached to a backhoe, it can be used to drill holes for fencing jobs, posting signs, and planting trees. A variety of the auger is the grain auger which is being used to transfer grains from trucks into storage bins.
- Ditch cleaning bucket—just attach this to any backhoe and you can do a lot of grading and cutting slopes.
- Asphalt cutter—if you are a contractor who’s job is to get under the cement to repair or check on sewer and gas lines, then you would need an asphalt cutter. This will make the road repair quite quick and easy.
- Pin lock couplers—these backhoe attachments can be used to switch out buckets on your line of backhoe loaders. This means that a single backhoe can do multiple jobs and several backhoes can finish tasks more capably on site.
- Hoe ram—is probably the best backhoe attachment in the market today. This part is comparable to a jackhammer except that it is much bigger and it can accomplish more when it is attached to the backhoe. This attachment is a percussive hammer that can powerfully demolish structures that are made of concrete or rock. A hoe ram is operated with the use of a foot valve.
- Grapple—this backhoe attachment is used to pick materials or dirt with its claws.
These are the major backhoe attachments that anyone should be familiar of—with each being unique and highly useful.
